Globe changes promo registration number to 8080

Globe Telecom is formally announcing the change of its promo registration number from 8888 to 8080.

During President Duterte’s SONA last end of July, he established the use of 8888 hotline as an easy way to receive complaints regarding government agencies. Coincidentally, Globe Telecom has been using this as their promo registration number and was given 30-45 days of timeframe to be able to migrate their system.

Today, Globe is using the hotline number 8080 for sending promo registrations through text or SMS.

“As a transitory procedure, customers sending promo registrations to 8888 will receive response from 8080 effective immediately until November 30, when 8888 will no longer be available for Globe transactions. This means that promo registrations sent to 8888 from November 30 onwards will no longer be processed.”

Globe subscribers may also use *143# to generate a USSD code and register to a call, text, or surfing promo of their choice.
