Looking at the results, the Zenfone 3 Ultra was rated at 12 hours and 2 minutes – above the Elephone P8000, but below the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL. It also performed below it’s smaller siblings namely the Zenfone 3 ZE552KL (3,000mAh – 13 hours, 46 minutes) and ZE520KL (2,600mAh – 12 hours, 49 minutes), but it’s understandable considering that the ZF3 Ultra sports a significantly larger 6.8-inch display.

android 7 (nougat) has this feature: lower the screen resolution to conserve battery.
i wonder if asus plans to offer android 7 update to its phone and tablet lineup.

also, if possible, can yugatech do battery tests for android 5, android 6, and android 7 devices? i want to know if there is a significant real world difference android 7 devices offer over their old android OS counterparts…

Problem sometimes with these tests is that the device is optimized for battery savings the first time around, but updates are not. Case in point is my Lenovo P1, the 5,000 mah battery last a long time on Lollipop 5.1, but now that it’s on Marshmallow, my device drains much faster, so much more that it just barely better than my other 3,000-3,500 mah devices . And that’s with most battery optimization (ie battery saver on during my sleeping hours, third party app Doze or Doozer turned on, cellular data off most of the time [wifi on]) enabled.

For the Zenfone 3 Max, my test at 50% brightness, 50% volume, airplane mode, yield a little over 10 hours 30 minutes. So it’s lower than the Zenfone 3 or the first-gen Max, but better than most other mid-rangers (ie Flash Plus 2, Aurii Envy) which mostly are in the 6-8 hours range.
