If we take a look at their designs, you can easily see the differences. The Mate 30 Pro comes with its halo-ring design for the rear cameras and keeps the notch design to cater to the sensors of the device. The Galaxy Note 10+; on the other hand, has a punch-hole selfie shooter while the back pretty much sticks to Samsung’s usual design.

Both of their display configurations are excellent; however, the main difference here is that the Galaxy Note 10+ has higher screen resolution and has a Gorilla Glass 6 protection while Huawei didn’t go for the same setup.

In terms of performance, Mate 30 Pro’s Kirin 990 has a higher clock speed than the Galaxy Note 10+’s Exynos 9825. However, this does not automatically mean that the former has a better overall performance. We’ve yet to know the real score once we get our hands on Huawei’s device.

These devices have large  RAM capacities. However, that the Galaxy Note 10+ carries a larger memory than the Mate 30 Pro, but you won’t notice the difference in actual usage.

The camera department is the main showcase for both phones. For the Mate 30 Pro, it has the new SuperSensing and Cine Camera lens which allows a 4K HDR+ quality and 7680fps slow-motion recording. It also has a front 3D Depth sensor which adds security for users (thanks to the AI Private View feature) along with a higher resolution selfie shooter. As for the Galaxy Note 10+, it has a dedicated stabilization for video recording called the Super Steady Mode, as well as, the Live Focus Video.

The Mate 30 Pro’s unique feature is the Invisible virtual volume key which lets you adjust the volume just by touching the side of the device’s screen. It also comes with an AI Auto-Rotate technology and 3D Face Unlock. One of the Galaxy Note 10+’s showcase is its S-Pen which, undoubtedly, is a pretty neat addition, especially if your screen size is big.

For battery performance, the Mate 30 Pro has a larger capacity with a faster wireless charging while the Galaxy Note 10+ is quicker on wired connections. We’ll know more which one has a longer battery life so stay tuned for that.

Here are the prices of each smartphone:

  • Huawei Mate 30 Pro – EUR 1,099 (~PHP 63,537)
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ (256GB) – EUR 1,119 (~PHP 64,628)

Overall, both flagship smartphones are excellent daily drivers. If you are more into photography and videography, go for the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. However, if you are more into the viewing experience, larger displays, and the unique S-Pen feature, pick the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.
