Facebook Messenger intros ‘Split Payments’ feature in the US

Facebook Messenger is getting a new feature called Split Payments. The new feature allows users to split expenses like restaurant bills with friends and co-workers.

Facebook Split Payments will begin testing this feature for Facebook Messenger in the US. To use Split Payments, Messenger will have an accessible Payments Hub, or the get started button in a group chat. You can divide a bill evenly or even change the amount of each individual’s contribution. A request will be sent and be viewable in the group chat.

Meta has also announced new Group Effects that are available on Messenger and Instagram video calls. New effects include King Bach, Bella Poarch, and Zach King effects. Two new soundmojis based on Stranger Things will also be available for users of Messenger and Instagram.
