Up-and-coming laptop manufacturer Framework has just announced that it will be launching a new modular laptop this year called the Framework Laptop 16.
Carrying the same upgrade, repair, and customization philosophy of Framework’s Framework Laptop 13, the Framework Laptop 16 will have two new notable features: a fully reconfigurable input deck and modular, upgradeable graphics.
This means that users will be able to freely hot-swap input modules like having either a small or medium numpad or a large keyboard or any compatible combination.
With the Framework Laptop 16, you will also be able to have upgradeable, modular graphics in a high-performance notebook via Framework’s Expansion Bay system. This is possible through Framework’s design flexibility which can handle different generations of mechanical, thermal, and electrical requirements for GPUs.
Full specifications, pricing, and availability will be unveiled once pre-orders on the Framework Laptop 16 are opened this spring, ahead of shipments in late 2023.
Right now, Framework doesn’t deliver to the Philippines but as PC and laptop fans ourselves, we’re fully onboard with Framework’s modular and right-to-repair philosophy.
