Microsoft to bring Text from Your PC feature coming to Windows

Microsoft has announced an upcoming feature to the Your Phone functionality in Windows 10, allowing you to view, send, and receive the SMS from your Android, on your computer.

Initially, the Your Phone application allows users to continue their web browsing, emails and app usage from their mobile devices to their desktops, but with the new feature introduced in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17755, it can now allow you to view, send, and receive SMS as well. Aside from typing via keyboard, pen-capable devices can also ink messages using their pens. Speech-to-text is also allowed just by pressing the Windows logo and H keys.

Do note though, that only Android 7 Nougat and above versions are compatible with the Your Phone app.

Other changes and improvements are as follows:

  • The build watermark at the lower right-hand corner of the desktop is no longer present in this build.
  • Fixed an issue resulting in slower resume from hibernation on certain devices in the last few flights.
  • Fixed an issue resulting in HDR video being unexpectedly clipped in certain situations.
  • Fixed an issue resulting in Windows Hello spending more time in the “Getting Ready” state in recent builds.
