OPPO reveals next-gen hybrid optical zoom technology

OPPO has recently revealed its next generation of hybrid optical zoom technology that brings clear and lossless all-focus image experience to consumers.

The new periscope module comes with 7-element lens design and a mechanism with a focal length of 85mm at F3.3 and 135mm at F4.4 to achieve optical zoom. Meanwhile., its large-sized sensor equipped with a focal length coverage of 85mm to 280mm features sophisticated imaging algorithms such as Fusion multi-focal length image fusion technology, multi-camera field-of-view alignment technology, and over dividing algorithm.

OPPO has redesigned a more versatile medium telephoto imaging system that sports a custom-designed, 16-bit high-precision driver IC for a more precise movement of both lenses, autofocus, and optical stabilization. The driver also improves zoom capabilities and provides more stable and clearer images.

You can check out the sample images taken with the next-generation hybrid optical zoom lens (85mm focal length) below:

The periscope module also has a new 32MP sensor.

OPPO did not share as to what smartphone the module will be available. However, the next-generation hybrid optical zoom technology has completed several patent applications worldwide.
