PLDT Inc. and its mobile unit Smart Communications have signed a 7-year, $300 million partnership deal with Amdocs to utilize its artificial intelligence and outsource some of their information technology (IT) operations as the company shifts to digital services.
PLDT said that Amdocs will help bring digital capabilities for convergent sales operations, digital customer experience across multiple channels, as well as service fulfillment and network rollout systems. Moreover, the program also aims to modernize the business IT systems of the company through advanced technologies, to increase revenue growth with new digital tools, and to introduce intelligent operations.

PLDT has budgeted P50 billion, its highest allotment ever, for capital expenditures this year as it prepares for the entry of a third telco player by the first quarter.

This is the same existing service provider for Globe. Remember what happened with Globe PrePaid problems (system downtimes) way back. Globe never got an explanation from the said provider. There must be more problems that I have not know of. And this provider had to keep strict confidentiality separate between the 2 Telcos accounts. Good luck w/ that.
