Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, 730, 730G now official
Qualcomm has announced its three newest mid-range chipsets — the Snapdragon 665, 730, and 730G.
The Snapdragon 665 features a 3rd-Gen Qualcomm AI engine, Hexagon 686 DSP with the addition of HVX, Qualcomm Spectra 165 ISP that supports hybrid autofocus, Optical Zoom Zero Shutter Lag Video, Video Style Transfer, and Triple camera for Telephoto, Wide, and Ultra-Wide shots at 48MP natively. Powering the chipset is a Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 610 GPU along with a Snapdragon X112 LTE Modem with speeds up to 600Mbps and integrated 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
The Snapdragon 730 sports a 4th-Gen multi-core Qualcomm AI Engine, Hexagon 688 processor with HVX and Hexagon Tensor Accelerator, Qualcomm Spectra 350 with a dedicated Computer Vision ISP that provides up to the 4x overall power saving compared to its previous generation, 4K HDR video capability (in Portrait Mode), and supports the HEIF format for both videos and photos. This chipset uses a Kryo 470 8nm process node with Adreno 618 GPU and Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem that reaches up to 800Mbps. It is also Wi-Fi 6-ready which further boosts connectivity speeds.
The Snapdragon 730G‘s main focus is on gaming capability and its difference to the 730 is that it comes with a 15% faster graphics rendering, true HDR, Anti-Cheating Extension, Wi-Fi latency manager, support for Cinemagraph, lowe power voice activation, and HD super slow-mo at 960fps.
The three snapdragon chipsets are expected to be available in mid-2019.
