Samsung announces 1TB eUFS 2.1 for mobile

Samsung has announced their first 1TB embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS) 2.1 for mobile devices.

The new eUFS 2.1 has 16 stacked layers of 5th-generatopm 512-gigabit (Gb) V-NAND flash memory. It features up to 1,000MB/s Sequential Read Speed which equates to 5-seconds offloading time of 5GB full HD videos. Its Random Read Speed is 58,000 IOPS which is a 38% increase in the company’s previous model in 2017.

The 1TB eUFS 2.1 has begun its mass production and will roll out to mobile devices soon.
