Samsung launches 12GB Mobile DRAM
Samsung has just announced that the company has begun on mass producing a 12GB LPDDR4X DRAM for smartphones.
The 12GB DRAM was made through a combination of six 16GB LPDDR4X chips, measuring at a 1.1mm thickness, and will deliver a transfer rate of 34.1GB per second with the use of Samsung’s 1y-nm technology. The company has stated that smartphone makers may be able to maximize the potential of their future devices, such as those with more than five cameras, bigger displays, and 5G capabilities, with the use of the 12GB DRAM.
Samsung stated that it plans to triple the production of its 8GB and 12GB mobile DRAM during the second half of 2019.
