Twitter adds auto-generated captions for videos

Twitter began rolling out auto-generated captions for videos. This feature is available on Android, iOS, and the web.

On Android and iOS, auto-captions will show on muted Tweet videos. Users may keep them on when unmuted via your device’s accessibility settings. On the other hand, users may use the “CC” button to turn it on/off on the web.

Take note that the newly uploaded videos will include auto-captions. Old uploaded videos that don’t have captions still won’t have them.

However, for now, users can’t report inaccurate or bad captions, a Twitter spokesperson tells The Verge, though saying, “we’re always looking at ways to improve our accessibility features.”
