Razer outs Deathstalker ultimate gaming keyboard

Just weeks after Razer announced the Ouroboros gaming mouse, they unveiled an equally awesome gaming keyboard in the form of Deathstalker to accompany the mouse in giving gamers the complete gaming experience.

We’ve seen and used a lot of gadgets and accessories in our time, but once in a while we bump in to a gadget that makes us want to say WTF?! When we saw the Razer Deathstalker Ultimate, those were the exact same words that came out.

Although the keyboard packs a lot of minor aesthetic features like Chiclet keys, tri-color backlit keys (Green, Red and Purple) and fixed wrist rest, the Deathstalker Ultimate’s main strength lies on the technological advancements it possess.

This gaming keyboard is imbued with Razer’s Synapse 2.0 which is a cloud-based storage for saving custom keyboard settings, downloading driver and firmware updates. Another feature of the Deathstalker Ultimate is its dedicated gaming mode which disables some of the unused and commonly wrong pressed keys like Windows key. It also makes use of Anti-Ghosting technology for a more accurate key presses and supports up to 10 simultaneous key presses.

The Razer Deathstalker Ultimate still has an ace up its sleeve and it’s undoubtedly its best feature. This gaming keyboard has a multi-functional and multi-touch 4.05” LCD panel that can act as trackpad, numpad, and can be assigned to display in-game information such as cooldowns or a gamer’s SNS feed which makes it easier for anyone to brag the spoils without switching windows.

Above the LCD panel are 10 dynamic, tactile keys which is also customizable and complete with the app’s icons. These keys can be used to bind in-game commands, macros, skills and spell or shortcut to other apps like SNS and email. These functionalities are made possible through Razer’s Switchable User Interface which was first introduced in the company’s gaming laptop and Synapse 2.0.

Awesome can’t even put justice to how innovative and good-looking the Deathstalker Ultimate is. Though designed for in-game commands, we liked how the LCD panel and the ten tactile keys can also be assigned for other non-game controls. If only I had enough cash to blow, $249.99 to be exact (coming this September), I would definitely add this to my gaming machine, and it’ll be a great addition indeed especially when paired with the Razer Ouroboros gaming mouse.
