Looks like Asus isn’t the only one making decent-looking laptops under the Php20k price category. Acer’s entry in the budget laptop (student laptop) market is the Acer Aspire E1.
Budget laptops take the shape of a regular-sized notebook (the 14-inchers) but with the hardware specs that’s close to the netbook range. Set the price at just under Php20k and you’ve got a budget laptop.
There are two variants of the Aspire E1 — one uses an AMD dual-core processor and the other uses an Intel Core i3 processor (2nd gen, Sandy Bridge).
Acer Aspire E specs:
14-inch TFT-LCD display @ 1366×768 pixels
AMD E300 1.3GHz dual-core
ATI Radeon HD 6150 256MB RAM
2GB DDR3 RAM (4GB max)
500GB HDD
DVD+RW
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
LAN port
SD card reader
1 x USB 3.0 port
2 x USB 2.0 ports
1 x HDMI port
720p webcam
6-cell battery
Linux
For this configuration, the retail price is just Php16,900. If you switch the chipset to the Core i3 2.2GHz, the price goes up considerably at Php22,400. Have Windows 7 pre-installed and you’ll need to add Php2,500.
pwede bang ma upgrade ang aspire e1-471??
pwede bang ma upgade ang aspire e1-471??
what i compare about is asus x401u with amd c60 processor
Guys i check the processor of both units and i found out that Acer’s processor is a bit more powerful than asus’. But asus processor has a max TDP of 9 watts while acer has max TDP of 18. Theoretically asus has longer battery life and lower power consumption.
Rex what you are saying is not true, the AMD E2-1800 processors are part of Brazos 2.0 lineup where the E-300 is a 1st generation Brazos processor.
The Brazos 2.0 processors are still 18W in power
But you get improved performance because
– Better RAM support with up to 1333mhz vs E-300 which is up to 1066mhz only
– Better Graphics with Radeon HD 7340 523 MHz, 680 MHz turbo vs HD6310 on the E300 without turbo.
– Better Processor Speed at 1.7Ghz
Plus the ASUS design is more appealing than acer, other than that the USB 3.0 slot of asus gave me another reason to enjoy especially for my external HDDs
waste
tinitipid pala tyo ng Acer eh:) sa Asus n lng tyo :)
It’s great to see that they’ve used Fang as a model, from Final Fantasy XIII.
AMD E300?

@Lorenz : This is compared to the previous post of yugatech

I bought the X401U because of his post and I don’t regret getting the acer.
Price wise they are very close so that is why I argued about the old processor on the acer.
“I bought the X401U because of his post and I don’t regret getting the acer.”
Sorry its suppose to be
I bought the X401U because of his post and I did get the acer since I have regrets about the processor

720p webcam? Does it mean it’s HD? right? hmm weird…
