Our two-day trip to Pampanga with Lenovo Philippines ended with over half a dozen new products from all-in-one PCs to laptops. Among them is the new Core i-series ultraportable, IdeaPad U460.
The IdeaPad U460 will replace the previous CULV thin-and-light notebooks (i.e. IdeaPad U450 and U350).
This time, however, the U460 will have options for Core i3-330UM (1.2GHz), Core i5-430UM (1.2GHz), 1.06GHz Core i5-520UM (1.06GHz), Core i5-540UM (1.2GHz), Core i7-620UM (1.06GHz) and Core i7-640UM (1.6GHz). Of course, you get the Turbo Boost Technology that basically overclocks the cores when needed.
According to Lenovo Philippines representatives, they will only offer the standard voltage processors for the U460. They didn’t mention when they will release the smaller 11.6″ U165 though.
The unit is thin and light as usual — 3.8lbs at under 1-inch thin. We weren’t able to get the full specs of the Lenovo U460 but they indicated that starting price will be Php34,000.

Still hoping for the core i5 or i7 model… any news when will it be released? visited the MOA Lenovo and Villman outlets… they have the same response “no news when will the Pentium core models will be released.”…
Do you think it is wise for me to get the dual core model if by decemeber, no i5 or i7 model materializes?
I am still hunting for a good i5 laptop.. I am eyeing for y460.. pero mahal.. kaya waiting mode.. z460…wala pa ako masyadong nakikitang review.. eto will wait for the u460 i5 version.. pati yung v460.. sana lumabas na..
I have checked the Lenovo outlet in Mall of Asia last week. As of now they only have the dual core version and the sales person do not know when will the intel core i3/i5/i7 will he released. I am still waiting for the i5 version (actually, I am hounding the lenovo phil website)… I hope it won’t be long, or I might settle for another brand.
If any of you who have found the core versions, please share. I do not want to shop online, I do not feel safe with those sellers.
Hi, any idea id these are already released here?
Finally got my Lenovo U460 core i5 lappie. :-) I thought it was running NVidia graphics (looked like it when I saw the sample unit). Turned out it came with Intel HD graphics. :( But windows score is 3.9. Is that score good already?
ang ganda talaga ng mga design ng lenovo
Actually is it really a good idea having Turbo Boost on a laptop given the possibilities of overheat.
Hope the i5 has a good price. i3 does not have Turbo Boost (always reminds me of Knight Rider…)
