Who signed up for the Google Chrome CR-48?

Barely two days after Google unveiled their very first generic notebook powered by the Chrome OS and people are already getting some test units after signing up in their Pilot Program.

Not much has been revealed about the laptop except that it’s a nameless 12.1″ unit with an Intel Atom processor inside. WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity is present and Google claims up to 8 hours of battery life.

We have a limited number of Chrome notebooks to distribute, and we need to ensure that they find good homes. That’s where you come in. Everything is still very much a work in progress, and it’s users, like you, that often give us our best ideas about what feels clunky or what’s missing. So if you live in the United States, are at least 18 years old, and would like to be considered for our small Pilot program, please fill this out. It should take about 15 minutes. We’ll review the requests that come in and contact you if you’ve been selected.

This application will be open until 11:59:59 PM PST on December 21, 2010.

You can still sign-up here.

Update: It’s actually just for US residents. However, I still tried applying via the MyUSMailBox service I hold.

The laptop looks like yung mga binebenta sa V-mall na brandless laptop…yep it looks like Macbook talaga.

Ayus! They are giving away this just to test the software. Heheheh ayus ha!

I think the laptop cost around 14k at Compex…if yan nga yung unit ne benta nila…well sympre NO CHROME OS pa yun hehehehe

i think chrome os is free coz its a linux derivative (opensource).. but incase its paid cheaper un.. lalot may xandros os rin na paid.

pero ung chromium os (from google rin pero iba nag mamaintain) libre lng may mga builds na na pwede gamitin sa laptop yata.
