Kickstarter campaign for Mega Man successor begins

Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man and former Capcom producer has started a Kickstarter campaign in an effort to release a new game called Mighty No. 9 – a spiritual successor to the popular 80’s game Mega Man (aka Rockman).

Mighty No. 9 is a new game that inherits the classic Japanese side-scrolling action of the good ol’ days injected with modern tech, fresh mechanics, and fan input. It is handled by an all-star dev team of Japanese game creators (including Inafune) with extensive experience in the genre, and with Mega Man in particular.

In this game, you will play as Beck, the 9th in a line of powerful robots, who will then slug it out against mechanized creatures infected with a computer virus. Like Mega Man, Beck can run, jump, blast and transform.

Mighty No. 9 is currently being developed for the PC and will be made available through Steam and DRM-free digital distribution methods. The estimated release date is spring 2015.

The Kickstarter campaign has just started last Saturday and, at the time of writing, has already received $783,000 in pledges of its $900,000 goal. If you want to support the project you can head to the source link below.

AT&T has been making great strides in service quality tying
and in some cases outstripping their rival. Analysts and pundits were
off the mark with that prediction, as instead Apple chose
to release the i – Phone 5C as a replacement for the i – Phone 5, which in the
past the company would have continued to sell at a $99 price
point on contract. Almost all the gadgets launched by the brand are amazing in features
    and incredible in looks.

The main gain to jailbreaking an i – Phone five is the ability to turn it right into
a Wi-Fi hotspot. ) It has only gotten more difficult to compare between the carriers.
On Friday, when the i – Phone 5 was released, it was
discovered that Verizon i – Phones were SIM-unlocked.

Nice to see that this game is handled by former Megaman Creator/Capcom Producer Keiji Inafune. It’s also nice to see that it’ll be developed in-house unlike Capcom’s recent games which are being outsourced to Western devs.

The reason why Keiji Inafune left Capcom and found his own company is because of the massive amount of Capcom games have been outsourced to western devs. He was deeply disappointed with the outsourcing because it makes a Japanese game turn into a Western one and he blames that outsourcing act for Capcom’s slumbering sales. He also believed that ever since Capcom has decided to outsource some of their games to foreign devs, the Japanese devs has fallen behind those Western devs. Japanese producers are pretty much the personification of a Japanese patriot because they take so much pride and honor in what they do and they believe they should develop games that’s in line on their culture.

Quite a brilliant point you got there, Capcom has been churning out mediocre titles in the last few years. Nice to see a new sidescroller, loved these as a kid
