Pokémon GO expands, adds over 80 Pokémon and new features

Niantic, Inc. has announced that it is expanding the world of Pokémon GO with the addition of more than 80 Pokémon as well as the implementation of new features.

Starting later this week, Pokémon GO players can start catching more than 80 Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games, which include Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. Pokémon with gender-specific variations will also start rolling out.

There will be new evolutions, with some Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will soon be able to evolve—into Pokémon that inhabit the Johto region, new encounter gameplay, new item carousels, new berries like Nanab and Pinap berries, new avatars, and an expanded wardrobe.
