Google Direct Carrier Billing Now Available on Sun Cellular

In recent post on their official Facebook page, Sun Cellular has announced that their postpaid subscribers can now use their account as an alternative payment option to using credit card when purchasing apps on Google Play Store.

The announcement came months after Smart offered the same service for its postpaid subscribers. According to the response we got from Sun Cellular representative, the Google Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) was only rolled out last July 23 and is available for all Sun Cellular postpaid subscribers with an Android device running on Froyo and above.

The Google DCB on Sun Cellular is free to use and only requires the user to do a one-time registration process in order to use.

DCB Registration

After the registration, Sun postpaid subscribers can now purchase apps or pay for in-app purchases using their account. The fee/fees will be added to their monthly due and will receive a confirmation about their purchase via SMS.

Sorry, i’m quite confused. But does using Sun Billing means that the charges/payment will be paid through your prepaid load? Like for example, i want to buy a P150 worth of app, i have to load 150 on my Sun sim card in order to purchase it?
