Gadmei P83: Glasses-less, naked-eye 3D PMP

While we’re starting to see more and more manufacturers going into the tablet craze, other small-time companies are on its way to offer glasses-less 3D tablets like the Gadmei P83 PMP player.

PMP (personal media players) can be considered as bumed-tablets (or feature-tablets) since all they can do is play music and all sorts video. This one can do 3D too. They’re much cheaper too — the Gadmei P83 3D sells for only $169 (saw it over at HK-based Marvel Digital).

Gadmei P83 3D PMP
8″ LCD display @ 1280 x 768 pixels
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via MMC, SD, SDHC
mini-USB port
e-Book reader function
Remote Control
4000mAh Li-Ion battery

Support for media files include:

3D Video: Left and right 3D video format (H.264 / AVI and other mainstream encoding format), need to add the file name in front of “[3D].”
Audio Format: MP3, MPEG, PCM, AAC, WMA, OGG, APE, WAV
Sound Mode: 5 audio modes (standard, classical, jazz, pop, rock)
Video Decoding: MPEG1/2/4, RealVideo, Divx & Xvid, M-JPEG, H.264
Video Format: MPEG1/2/4, RealVideo, Divx & Xvid, M-JPEG, H.264, TS, TP, RM, RMVB, AVI, MPG, MPEG, VOB, DAT, M2TS, MTS, MP4, MOV, MKV

Don’t know what OS this PMP runs on but I’m pretty sure it’s one of those really odd embedded systems. This is more like a toy rather than a tablet but still interesting nonetheless.
