The guys from Wicked Lasers sent over one of their newest laser gadgets — the 100mW Photonic Disruptor. This is the second set of laser we got after that 125mW Executive Series from last year.
Unlike the previous one, the Photonic Disruptor is a water-proof high-powered green laser that’s designed for a more rugged and harsh environment. As such, the body (including the on/off button) is fully covered with a rubber-like skin.
The Specs:
Wavelength: 532nm
Output Power: 100mW
Beam Diameter: ~1.5mm
Power Consumption: 600mA
The laser focus can be adjusted from 1.5mm to 7.5mm radius with the wider unfocused beam less intense and has shorter range. If you’ve watched Future Weapons on Discovery Channel, this laser has been featured/used in one of their episodes (see video here).
The Photonic Disruptor uses 2 AAA batteries that only lasts just over an hour and retails for $599.99 (designed for military and law enforcement use only).
Nice answers in return of this matter with real
arguments and teling all on the topic of that.
Hey,Paco, for more laser pointers can be found in http://www.laserpointerdirect.com/.Laser pen is very interesting,I like!
Where can I buy one here in manila? I’m looking for a green laser pointer.. Are there cheaper versions?
Once watched CSI Miami which featured that type of laser to bring down a plane (blinded the pilot from the the ground)
Nah, I’ll only buy if it can cut through titanium.
err mr yuga can you tell your supplier that you’ve conveniently lost one of them lazers :D
I badly need one.. >:)
Oh, THAT video. Thanks!
Holy Moly! A real honest to goodness laser weapon in our country… Now I know we’re in the 21st century!
@Mike – you gotta to check ut that video in the link above. It’s a feature on Future Weapons on Discovery Channel.
Thanks Franz. Ouch, that sounds nasty. I wonder what Yuga plans to do with the thing hehe.
@Mike
It was designed for SWAT and military use in nonlethal takedowns. The adjustable-focus green ray will do permanent retinal damage to anyone within about 60 feet, visually disorients people up to 1,150 feet away, and illuminates objects almost 2 miles out.
From Wikipedia…
XADS makes the Photonic Disruptor Series [1]. It is called a Threat Assessment Laser Illuminator (TALI); but it can cause night-blindness and secondary effects such as nausea; it is claimed to leave no permanent eye damage.
Erm, sorry Yuga but I had to ask–what exactly are photonic disruptors?
wow… very affordable… what a price?! :)
