Trying out HTCSense.com on Desire HD

HTC sent me a Desire HD over the week-end and the very first thing that I did after unboxing it was to set up an HTCSense.com account.

HTCSense.com is still somewhat in the beta stage and only accepts the Desire HD and Desire Z handsets at the moment. It’s the Apple MobileMe counterpart for HTC handsets.

HTC Sense has the following features:

Setting Call Forwarding
Setting Message Forwarding
Make Phone Ring at Full Volume
Lock Phone
Erase Phone

Here’s a short clip showing the Desire HD being activated using the HTC Sense website.

There still some issue with the Phone Finder. I’ve already enabled it on the phone but HTC Sense still thinks it’s not activated. Will be interesting to see this in action once I figure out how to activate it.

Sir, we will wait for further reviews about HTCsense.com. Based on your demo, the phone ringer works only if the phone is connected to the internet (either 3G or wifi). I tried it myself also. Hence, I think the phone finder will work only when wifi/3G is on. Kinda useless for me, since I always turn off 3G/wifi when not in use (to save battery life and avoid unnecessary charges).

On the other hand, HTCsense has a lot of potential, and I am really interested and excited to see the developments.

I will watch out for more reviews in the future.

    Thanks

    — JAN 2011 was what the HTC staff from SM North told me regarding the release date of the Desire HD.

They’re the same ones who said they were expecting the Desire HD to arrive OCT 2010, then NOV, then DEC and now they’re saying it’s JAN 2011.

Hope HTCSense becomes available for the HTC Desire…

@garz – No, that’s really the HD. The two handsets look distinctly different.

how’s the HTC Desire HD compare with Samsung Captivate, in terms of brightness, clarity under direct sunlight, and sharpness of image.
