MSI Wind U135 running Pine Trail previewed

During yesterday’s announcement of the new Atom Pine Trail processors, we were able to test out a new but un-named MSI netbook. It’s now official that it was an MSI Wind U135.

We were actually making some wild guesses as to what would be the SKU name for it and the closest I think I got was U145.

The two new 10 inch MSI Wind are U130 and U135, the latter having chiclet-type keys. Aside from an Atom N450 1.66GHz Pine Trail processor, the netbook has 250GB of drive space, 1 GB RAM, Intel GMA 3150 256MB, Bluetooth and WiFi N. Windows 7 Starter was also pre-installed.

Here’s a screenshot of the Windows Experience Index with a score of 2.3:

The unit came with a 3-cell battery. Was not able to run BatteryBar with it but based on the indicator, it could not have more than 3 hours of battery life on a single full charge.

I’m not sure when will this model be introduced in the Philippines or how much it would sell for but I’d hazard a guess it will be around Php21-Php23k where the older models ere pegged when they first arrived.

    i love my msi when it was still new, but i have realized that its built is cheaply made, very plasticky and when i carry it using one hand it create cracky sound, very annoying and make me want to sell my msi wind, but i really dont sell my things so yeah

    @laurence
    n270 and n280 lumang platform (3-chips).
    n450 2-chip platform lang so mas maliit and mas mababa power consumption.

    1.66Ghz lang rin yung n450 though (same as n280).
