#Apple iOS 26.4 beta

On iPhones running iOS 26.4 beta 2, encrypted RCS messages appear in the Messages app with a “Text Message · RCS” label and a lock icon indicating encryption. Apple first introduced RCS support with iOS 18 in September 2024, adding features such as typing indicators, read receipts, and higher-quality media sharing between iPhone and Android users. To test the feature, iPhones must be running iOS 26.4 beta 2 on supported carriers. Apple has released the first public beta versions of its upcoming software updates, allowing users to try iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and watchOS 27 ahead of their official release later this year. Apple reminds users that these are beta versions and may contain bugs or affect battery life. Those interested can enroll in the Apple Beta Software Program before downloading the updates through Settings > General > Software Update on supported devices. Apple has released the second developer beta of iOS 27.
