Sony has announced in their blog post that they are shutting down the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita and PS3. According to Sony, the closure is necessary due to the PS3 and PS Vita platforms can no longer support the modern payment processing and commerce systems used by the PlayStation Store. Sony has announced that it will stop releasing new PlayStation games on physical discs starting January 2028, marking a major shift in how future titles will be sold on the platform.
