Qualcomm will no longer announce updates to its Snapdragon G Series gaming chips at the 2026 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.

Despite earlier hints that it would expand its Arm-based push into Windows gaming handhelds, there will be no updates for the Qualcomm Snapdragon G Series in this year’s GDC.
The company also confirmed it will not provide hands-on access or benchmarks for the recently announced Snapdragon X Series updates during the event.
Qualcomm spokesperson Cassandra Garcia-Bacha makes a statement to The Verge: “Snapdragon X Series and Snapdragon G Series processors are pushing the PC, desktop, and handheld gaming device industries forward. Our commitment remains strong, and we can’t wait to share more information about these areas.”
During a recent earnings call, CEO Cristiano Amon said that memory shortages have affected the company’s chip business.
