OPPO launches its two products along with the OPPO X 2021 rollable concept smartphone, the AR Glass 2021, and the CybeReal AR application.
The OPPO AR Glass 2021 is the second concept AR glasses that bring improvements in wearing experience, optical functions, interaction, and content ecosystem. 75% lighter from its predecessor, it has a new split design. It is built with the Birdbath optical solution, which increases the contrast by 53%, brightness uniformity by 98%, and pixels per degree by 40%. It has a 0.71-inch OLED that gives users a viewing experience on a 90-inch screen from 3 meters away. It features diverse sensors, including a stereo fisheye camera, one ToF sensor, and one RGB camera. It also has a customized large-amplitude speaker, supports gesture-based and smartphone interactions, and voice control through OPPO voice assistant Breeno. Its binocular fisheye cameras capture the real-time environment, conduct local mapping, and complete the three-dimensional spatial localization calculations within milliseconds. This helps in giving a real-time and more accurate location of the user. The glass supports AR streaming, gaming, shooting, and home designing.
Meanwhile, the CybeReal AR application is powered by a real-time, spatial calculation technology that enables high-precision localization and scene recognition. It features OPPO’s three core technologies, including accurately reconstructing the centimeters, real-time high-precision localization, and OPPO Cloud to enrich users’ perception and understanding of the real world. This involves high-precision localization and scene recognition based on GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, network information, and the SLAM and AI scene-recognition algorithms.
It identifies the user’s exact location and responds to its every action, giving a more precise positioning than the navigation map. The app relies heavily on OPPO Cloud’s storage. Data self-repair can be achieved with users’ permission by updating cloud data in real-time according to user feedback. The AR application can be deployed in large areas such as shopping malls, parking areas, virtual playgrounds, product displays, and even visual marketing in physical stores.
