realme’s 320W SuperSonic Charge can fully power up a phone in under 5 minutes

Listen to article

Not too long ago, we were impressed by 30W charging that could fill up a smartphone battery in less than an hour. Now, charging technology has advanced so much that a phone can be fully charged in under 5 minutes.

According to realme, the 320W SuperSonic Charge technology can fully recharge a smartphone in just under 5 minutes more precisely, in 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Even a brief one-minute charge gives 26% battery, while 50% is achieved in just 2 minutes.

realme refers to its 320W power adapter as the “Pocket Cannon,” boasting a power density of 3.3W/cm³ while maintaining the compact size of their existing 240W adapter.

The charger is also compatible with various charging standards, including UFCS (up to 320W), SuperVOOC (realme, OPPO, OnePlus), and PowerDelivery (PD). Additionally, it offers two USB-C ports that can simultaneously charge realme devices up to 150W and laptops up to 65W.

realme has also unveiled its AirGap Voltage Transformer, which utilizes contact-free electromagnetic conversion to keep high voltage safely isolated from the battery during circuit faults.

In conjunction with the 320W SuperSonic Charge, the AirGap Transformer about the size of a fingertip ensures safe charging at these rapid speeds.

Finally, realme introduced a 4,420mAh folded battery design featuring four ultra-thin cells, each under 3mm thick. This design increases battery capacity by 10% compared to traditional layouts and could hint at a future realme foldable device.
