BSP Deputy Governor Mamerto Tangonan said the system is already 24/7 ready and the rollout will expand operating hours beyond the current 9 a.m. The move is part of a plan to build a round-the-clock real-time gross settlement system that supports instant domestic transfers, links with foreign payment networks, and enables services such as 24/7 remittances, cross-border ecommerce flows, and same-day settlement of the cash leg in bond trades. “Apple Pay makes everyday payments simple, secure, and seamless — whether users are shopping in stores or online — with no need to open another app. If a user’s iPhone is lost or stolen, they can use the Find My app to quickly locate, lock, or suspend payments from that device. Users can also make purchases with Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, and Mac for faster and more convenient payments in apps or on the web without having to create accounts or repeatedly type in contact information, card details, or shipping and billing information. BDO Pay is offering zero-fee transactions for several everyday payment services, including money transfers, bills payment, mobile load purchases, and QR-based payments. The promotion aims to encourage more commuters to try cashless fare payments and make everyday train rides more convenient.
