AMD has unveiled the world's first 7nm datacenter GPUs designed for next-generation deep learning, HPC, cloud computing and rendering applications, the AMD Radeon Instinct MI60 and MI50 accelerators. The new AMD Radeon Instinct MI60 and MI50 accelerators were designed to efficiently process workloads such as rapidly training complex neural networks, delivering higher levels of floating-point performance, greater efficiencies and new features for datacenter and departmental deployments. "Legacy GPU architectures limit IT managers from effectively addressing the constantly evolving demands of processing and analyzing huge datasets for modern cloud datacenter workloads," said David Wang, senior vice president of engineering, Radeon Technologies Group at AMD. The AMD Radeon Instinct MI50 accelerator is expected to begin shipping to data center customers by the end of Q1 2019. AMD has officially unveiled the Radeon RX 9050, expanding its Radeon RX 9000 desktop graphics card lineup with a new entry-level RDNA-based GPU aimed at 1080p gaming. AMD also published its own gaming benchmarks for the Radeon RX 9050 at 1080p using medium settings. Compared to the Radeon RX 9060, the RX 9050 has fewer Compute Units and Stream Processors, positioning it as the entry-level model in AMD's Radeon RX 9000 desktop GPU family. Price and Availability AMD has not yet announced the official price of the Radeon RX 9050.
