Google is expanding Gemini’s agentic features, allowing the AI to perform actions directly on Android apps. Gemini’s app control will work only with certain apps at launch where it will likely start with food delivery, booking rides and possibly some Google apps. X (formerly, Twitter) has rolled out a rebuilt version of its Android app after nearly a year of development. Nikita Bier, Head of Product at X, announced that the company rebuilt the app from scratch, calling it "one of the largest engineering efforts in the company's history." Bier also noted some improvements remain in progress, including better performance on older Android devices and support for hosting Spaces on Android.
