GCash iGnite Innovation Summit 2025: FUTURE4WARD- Shaping Tomorrow, Today

Listen to article
On July 8, 2025, GCash kicked off its iGnite Innovation Summit 2025 with bold declarations, a future-facing agenda, and a whole lot of AI. This year’s theme? “FUTURE4WARD” and GCash isn’t just talking about it, they’re already building it.
The fintech giant, under Mynt (its parent company), gathered innovators, tech leaders, regulators, partners, and GCash barkadas in a packed SMX convention hall,  making it by far its  biggest innovation summit.

“Agility is in our DNA” quoted by Martha Sazon

Opening the summit was Martha Sazon, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mynt, the holding company of GCash, who delivered a powerful message on how innovation at GCash has moved from buzzword to backbone.

Sazon highlighted how AI is no longer a concept at GCash, it’s a core operation. From Gina, the AI voicebot changing how collections are done, to GLean, their internal AI tool now adopted by over 90% of employees, GCash is proving that tech and business can truly speak the same language.

She also shared the upcoming financial AI assistant, a Taglish-speaking money mentor in  users’pocket.

Pebbles Sy rallies the room: “You’re not just participants. You’re future makers.”

Mynt Chief Technology and Operations Officer Pebbles Sy,  delivered a high-energy call to action for everyone in the room, encouraging everyone to think boldly and turn aspirations to reality.

“Don’t just be a spectator,” she challenged. “Absorb the ideas. Ask hard questions. Make connections. Take something home.

The platform’s people-first approach to AI was also emphasized by  Sy , who gently reminded everyone that technology should support human needs rather than the other way around.
She stressed that digital trust is the bedrock of inclusive innovation, especially now that AI is shaping how Filipinos access financial services. Such trust, she added, is crucial if the technology is to truly empower every individual and community.

Gov’t Leaders at GCash iGnite 2025 Champion AI-Driven Growth, Inclusion, and Digital Trust

The GCash iGnite Innovation Summit 2025 wasn’t just a gathering of tech giants—it was a powerful show of government support for a smarter, more inclusive digital economy. Key regulators and policymakers, including representatives from DICT, AMLC, CICC, and both houses of Congress, were in full force. Leading the charge was Undersecretary Joee Guilas of the Office of the President, who delivered a strong message: innovation, when paired with inclusion, is the future of national growth.

Speaking on behalf of Secretary Frederick Go, Guilas praised GCash’s contributions to digital inclusion from powering the Digital National ID to enabling millions with accessible financial tools. He emphasized that AI and digital upskilling could boost the Philippine economy by ₱2.8 trillion by 2030. With the approval of the National AI Strategy, the government is doubling down on data sovereignty, infrastructure, and cybersecurity reforms.

In a fireside chat, Secretary Henry Aguda reinforced the call for balanced regulation that nurtures innovation while safeguarding consumer trust. “We must not just adapt to the digital future, we must lead it,” Guilas affirmed. At iGnite 2025, it’s clear: public-private synergy is paving the way for an AI-empowered Philippines.

Tech Titans on the Future of AI: Ascendion and Alibaba Cloud Urge Bold, Human-Centered Innovation

At the GCash iGnite Innovation Summit 2025, two global tech powerhouses—Ascendion and Alibaba Cloud—delivered compelling visions of an AI-powered future that keeps humans at the heart of innovation.
Radhakrishnan Rajagopalan, Chief Delivery and Technology Officer at GGM Ascendion, made it clear: AI is not a threat, it’s a force multiplier. “AI is reshaping how we deliver programs, products, and careers,” he shared, calling for a cultural shift in how enterprises build and deploy software. By embedding AI across the entire development lifecycle, Rajagopalan explained how organizations can accelerate time-to-market, reduce ambiguity, and boost productivity. But tech alone isn’t enough. “AI is the catalyst,” he emphasized, “but only when paired with human ingenuity.”

Garry Sien, Chief Solutions Architect for Global Financial Services Solutions at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International, echoed this sentiment. “Yes, AI holds immense potential for the finance industry, but its implementation requires careful navigation, both technically and organizationally, he said. Referencing Alibaba’s Quark application, an AI super assistant application serving more than 200 million users, Sien emphasized the importance of AI’s real-world applications. “Success isn’t defined by model sophistication alone, but by how responsibly and effectively it’s applied to solve tangible problems,” he added, underscoring Alibaba Cloud’s commitment to accelerate AI adoption through its leading and proven cloud and AI technologies together with the need for cross-industry collaboration and open-source knowledge-sharing.

From code to cloud, both leaders made one thing clear: the future of AI isn’t just about algorithms; it’s about bold decisions, relentless innovation, and the humans behind the tech.

GCash shapes an intelligent and stronger Future ahead

The message was clear: Innovation isn’t just about what’s possible,it’s about what’s purposeful.

And as we rapidly embrace the innovation and integration of AI, this doesn’t just make financial lives easier, but promotes literacy in finance and technology. GCash isn’t playing it safe in 2025. From AI-powered customer service to smarter wealth tools and deeper cybersecurity initiatives, it’s clear the company wants to remain at the center of every Filipino’s digital financial life.

With GCash’s vision, we’re fostering a community that is financially responsible and intelligent. Building a brighter and stronger future ahead.
