Apple has just launched the iOS 12.2 update for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The update includes support for Apple's new service, Apple News+. The Apple News+ update can be found inside the Apple News app that's available by default on iOS devices. Apart from Apple News+, the iOS 12.2 update also includes four new Animoji, namely a giraffe, shark, boar, and an owl. It also includes support for Siri to play videos from iOS devices to the Apple TV. Apple dedicated a big chunk of WWDC 2026 to child safety, and the update is the most comprehensive parental control expansion since Screen Time launched. Moreover, the company also revealed that both iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini in Purple ship with the latest iOS 14.5, which features the ability to unlock iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a face mask, an enhanced Apple Podcasts app with a redesigned show and episode pages, and a Search tab, as well as new emoji.
