Apple executive recently told in an interview that 8GB RAM on their latest MacBook Pro lineup is equivalent to 16GB on the PC. While that may be true—‘analogous’ to Windows PCs as what the Apple exec claims—the same can’t be said when compared to its own kin boasting 16GB unified memory. New benchmarks from Max Tech show that the 8GB memory significantly limits the performance of Apple M3. This shows that multitasking can have a negative impact on Apple M3’s performance using only 8GB of so-called ‘unified memory’. As Apple unveils the new MacBook Pro lineup featuring the new Apple M3 chip, the 24-inch Apple iMac joins the upgrade party with its own M3 chip.
