Opera has officially launched Neon, a new subscription-based browser that integrates agentic AI features designed to handle tasks directly within the browsing experience. Unlike traditional browsers, Neon can open and close tabs, compare data across multiple sources, and complete transactions on behalf of users. The browser positions Opera against competitors like Perplexity’s Comet Browser and The Browser Company’s Dia Browser. Opera confirmed Neon will remain a standalone product, though select features may be integrated into its flagship browser. I've been a fan of the Flock browser ever since I discovered it years back. I installed the beta copy here and was greeted by a more socially-aware browser. Facebook and Twitter streams are integrated into the browser. Besides, by being a Chrome cousin, it would be easier for Flock to partner with Google for in-browser search monetization.
