A recent report revealed that 533 million Facebook accounts leaked online. According to the National Privacy Commission (NPC), 879,699 Facebook accounts of Filipino netizens allegedly are compromised due to the large-scale breach affecting 533 million global users on the said social media platform. Have I Been Pwned is a website that allows you to search across multiple data breaches to see whether your email address or phone number has been compromised. And when scrolling down, you will be able to see what kind of data was compromised. Facebook has stated that the company has disabled 2.19 billion accounts in the first quarter of 2019 with 5 percent of accounts likely to be fake. According to Guy Rosen, Vice President of Integrity, the largest social networking site reported in their latest enforcement activity that they have disabled more than 2 billion of fake accounts set up by "bad actors". "The amount of accounts we took action on increased due to automated attacks by bad actors who attempt to create large volumes of accounts at one time," Rosen stated.
