Nothing is expanding its Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 open beta rollout, now bringing the update to the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. The Nothing OS 4.0 open beta introduces a cleaner and more polished visual style with the new Nothing icon design, described as “lighter, more refined, and uniquely Nothing.” The update also brings Lock Glimpse, which refreshes your lock screen with curated wallpapers from nine categories while showing timely updates and relevant content. Other features from Nothing OS 4.0 carry over as well, including refinements to system animations, UI elements, and performance optimizations. Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei has confirmed that Nothing OS 4.0, based on Android 16, will be released this autumn, between September and November 2025, with the Nothing Phone 3 being the first to receive the update .
