#Paymaya cashless payments

To help keep social distancing norms, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has partnered with PayMaya to allow drivers and operators of PUVs to accept cashless payment options. Additionally, PayMaya will be giving taxis and transport operators access to a digital financial account for everyday transactions, including bills payments, airtime load reloading, and sending money to friends and family. PayMaya will also be granting contactless payments via credit, debit, and prepaid cards via tap-to-pay technology through other digital payment solutions to transport operators. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is introducing cashless payments for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT). To reiterate, the first phase of the cashless payments rollout will start next month. MRT-3 now accepts cashless payments (GCash, QR Ph) following a pilot test run. For cashless payments, commuters can now simply scan the QR code on ticket booth counters.
