Qualcomm has announced its new Snapdragon X65 5G Modem-RF System, considered as the world’s first 10 Gigabit 5G and the first 3GPP release 16 modem-RF system, as well as the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF system, that will soon arrive in mobile devices this year. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 modem is designed to support speeds of up to 10 Gigabits per second and support the latest 5G specifications that will enable new 5G use cases outside of the usual smartphone experiences. In addition to the X65, Qualcomm also introduced the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System. The Snapdragon X62 is a 5G modem-to-antenna solution supporting up to multi-Gigabit downloads and is optimized for mainstream adoption of mobile broadband applications. Commercial devices based on these Modem-RF solutions are expected to launch by late 2021. Qualcomm is getting ready for the next-generation high-speed mobile connectivity with the announcement of its commercial 5G modem - the Snapdragon X50. Qualcomm says that its the first company to announce a commercial 5G modem chipset solution in the form of the Snapdragon X50. Additionally, the Snapdragon X50 also supports 800MHz bandwidth with peak download speeds of up to 5 gigabits per second, can be used for multi-mode 4G/5G mobile broadband and fixed wireless broadband devices, and can be paired with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with an integrated Gigabit LTE modem via dual-connectivity.
