Listen to article

Spotify has launched Running Mode. This is a new feature that creates personalized playlists for running based on a user’s workout goals, preferred music and running pace.

Running Mode can be accessed through Spotify’s Fitness Hub. Users can choose from 25 workout presets. They can also customize their run by selecting the workout type, duration, target BPM and music style. Spotify then generates a playlist that matches the chosen pace.

The feature also includes optional English voice prompts that provide guidance and motivation during workouts.

Spotify said Running Mode is designed to make it easier for users to find music that matches their workouts without creating playlists manually. The feature is rolling out to eligible iOS users in select markets starting today.

The feature is available to Spotify Premium users on iOS in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden. It will expand the feature to more countries at a later date.
