Qualcomm has recently announced its newest mobile chipset, the Snapdragon 678. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 678, a follow-on to the previous Snapdragon 675, aims to deliver overall performance upgrades, high-speed connections for advanced photo and video capture, and immersive entertainment experiences. “Snapdragon 678 brings advanced mobile capabilities for daily entertainment at lightning-fast speeds over reliable connections and long-lasting battery life for consumers worldwide,” Vice President Product Management of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, Kedar Kondap, stated. Qualcomm has announced that its annual Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 22 to 24, 2026, in Hawaii, where the company is expected to introduce its next-generation Snapdragon processors. While Qualcomm has not officially confirmed the products that will be unveiled during the summit, the Snapdragon Summit has traditionally served as the company's stage for introducing its flagship mobile platforms. Industry reports also suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series could be Qualcomm's first flagship mobile processors manufactured using a 2nm process, although the company has yet to confirm the manufacturing details or pricing. Qualcomm is expected to share additional details about the event as Snapdragon Summit 2026 draws closer.
