Research by cybersecurity solution provider Check Point has recently found vulnerabilities on Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The research, dubbed as Achilles, found more than 400 lines of vulnerable codes within the digital signal processor (DSP) of a Qualcomm chipset. Check Point did not mention the model of Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset that the company tested, keeping the full technical details on these vulnerabilities to minimize exploits. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300. Qualcomm said laptops powered by Snapdragon C are expected to launch later this year from brands including Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Meanwhile, Acer’s higher-end Swift Spin 14 AI uses Snapdragon X2 Elite or X2 Plus processors and supports Copilot+ PC features. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity.
