DITO Telecommunity has launched Silent Network Authentication, a technology that allows digital platforms to verify users directly through the mobile network without relying on SMS one-time passwords (OTPs). The authentication method verifies a user’s identity through the telecom network itself, reducing dependence on traditional SMS-based verification that has become vulnerable to SIM-swap attacks and message interception. The deployment was highlighted during a session at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona focused on network APIs and telecom-based authentication systems.
