It supports voice and video calls through supported apps, messaging apps, SMS, and basic navigation services using Starlink's low-Earth orbit satellites. According to Globe, the service works by allowing compatible LTE smartphones with an active Globe SIM to connect directly to Starlink satellites once they are outside Globe's terrestrial network coverage and have a clear view of the sky. Globe Prepaid and TM subscribers can access the service through a Globe Starlink promo starting at PHP 99, while Globe Platinum and Postpaid users with Plan 1499 and above can use it at no extra cost. Globe Telecom has officially partnered with Starlink to bring Direct to Cell (DTC) satellite service to the Philippines, making it the first telco in Southeast Asia to offer this breakthrough technology.
