Microsoft finally launches its new command line tool for Windows -- the Windows Terminal. The new Windows Terminal is the company's modern command line tool that caters to users such as shells like Command Prompt, PowerShell, and even WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). The Windows Terminal installs and runs alongside the existing in-box Windows Console which preserves the backward compatibility with existing command-line tools, scripts, etc... Users can get their hands on the Windows Terminal this Summer 2019 as the previews will be released to the Microsoft Store for early adopters. The Windows Terminal 1.0 is set to be released this Winter 2019. You can already access the Windows Terminal in their GitHub here. Microsoft has started rolling out new preview updates for Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel. The update brings Windows 11 Builds 26100.7918 and 26200.7918 (KB5077241) to devices running version 24H2 and the upcoming 25H2.
