Research in Motion (RIM) unveiled today their new BlackBerry Torch 9800 handset which comes with both a full qwerty slider keyboard and a full touch-screen display.

The BB Torch 9800 is the first handset from RIM to run the new BlackBerry OS 6.0. However, those having units like the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100, BlackBerry Bold 9650 and BlackBerry Bold 9700 can expect to have an upgrade to BB OS 6.0 soon.

It will initially be available to AT&T customers this August 12 and there’s no word when it will be released outside of the US.
The unit reminds me a lot of the Palm Pre though.
