Sony Funimation Global Group announced that all Funimation content are now available to Crunchyroll subscribers starting March 1, effectively merging Sony’s two anime streaming platforms. The merge brings over 1,600 hours of content including 50-plus newly added titles and simulcast content from Funimation’s lineup to Crunchyroll. Sony said that Crunchyroll’s ad-free subscription will remain unchanged, “creating a huge benefit for new and existing subscribers who will no longer have to pay for two services.” As of writing, Crunchyroll released a list of Funimation titles available now, and more content will soon follow. Finally, Sony is also extending the trial of Funimation, a joint venture of Sony and Aniplex of Japan.
