Telegram brings native Apple Watch app back

Listen to article

Telegram has released a fully native Apple Watch app, bringing messaging and media features directly to watchOS users.

The app lets users tap into chats, contacts, and conversations after linking their account by scanning a QR code using the Telegram iPhone app. There may be extra security check-ins too, depending on what’s going on.

People can send and receive text and voice notes, view GIFs and videos, share their location, and mess around with stickers right from their Apple Watch.

This release is basically Telegram coming back to watchOS more than a decade after it first tried Apple Watch support in 2015, then later dropped the app. The latest version is now being pushed out worldwide via the App Store.
