For most 8-5 workers, December is the (only) time of the year that one can splurge on something pricey for themselves (talk about 13th month and christmas bonus).
For some bloggers who wittingly rely on AdSense for a Christmas gift for themselves, this is the time to look back at those AdSense checks and see if the bank has already cleared all (or maybe just one) of them for a hefty withdrawal.
How has AdSense been good to you?
Is it buying you a couple of venti mocha frapuccino a month? Or maybe it has already paid for your hosting and domain for the whole year. It would be nice to see that check that pays your very own vps server like Migs. It could have been more generous if it bought you a brand new laptop like Markku or maybe a Canon Digital Rebel XT like Connie. What about Marc’s spanking new Honda Civic? (still unconfirmed as he wouldn’t admit it!) It’s been paying my rent, bills and groceries for a couple of months now so it’s been good to me as well.
Has it been good to you as well? How’s your outlook for blogging (and problogging) in 2006?

See, I’m not in the pro leagues… still use it for Internet expenses!
Christmas is not good for Adsense. My November 22 check is not yet here! Hope it didn’t get lost in the pile of mail.
Jaypee says:
no, Adsense hasn’t been good coz i don’t know how to use it..hahaha :D
mlq3 says:
i never got anything :(
Abe Olandres says:
@ mlq3
huh? They never sent that $102.09 check a couple of months ago (Sept. to be specific)? It says there that payment has been sent.
vern says:
It’s paid for 5 years of hosting and domain. It’s nice, but this whole thing is a hobby and experiment, nothing more. All this talk of problogging is all hype. Only a select few actually make a living off it. A decent college football player has more chances of making it to the NFL than a regular blogger making substantial gains from blogging. I’m a pessimist, aka realist.
Major Tom says:
This sure could inspire many bloggers to think of blogging as an additional source of earnings. Problogging might just take away the genuineness of raw blogging—like selling out—but I guess earning monetary units is like earning points in a fun game, and make blogging all worthwhile.
alwell says:
Many people link adsense to blogging. Why? does it mean web owners are earning more when a website is a blog type than website like portal or even just merely a information website that are not considered as a blog.
For me adsense has been good to me for the first 6 months of this year only. After that when I found a better alternative for my time rather than targeting blogging + adsense, the earnings went down. Hopefully, I can try to experiment again next year.
Ederic says:
Got my very first check a few weeks ago. May pambayad na ako sa hosting ng Tinig sa ploghost.
Hala, sobrang overdue na nga pala :p
Rickey says:
AdSense has been good to me this year, although I might not be earning enough, I think.
filipinoadsenser says:
To Migs
Why don’t you use express delivery? It’s secure and fast.
Migs says:
Dude, I’m not yet in the $100/Month club. When I get there perhaps.
pinoyadsenser says:
I think, inq7.net is getting a lot of money from Adsense but also has some bad adsense trick. See my post about this issue here;

Abe Olandres says:
@ pinoyadsenser
I mentioned this to JV Rufino when we met at the blogging conference last month. The bug also happens with Firefox so I guess it’s some sort of a javascript conflict with some of their other ad properties.
Marc says:
What the — ei Abe, Sophie is courtesy of Equitable PCI Bank, not AdSense hehe :P
adsensepinoy says:
When my first cheque arrive, that’s the only time I can say that Adsense is good.
ade says:
it’s not good with me, as I still haven’t even reached 50% before I get the check. Sigh.
llessur1972-yahoo says:
yes, its been very good to me since I started in September of 2005. My check for June can buy me an Acer Ferrari and deposit the other on bank for my savings…
Dexter says:
Adsense has been good to me since I joined. It help pay my two dedicated servers that cost me almost a grand a month, and the cool thing is that leave me enough to pay my car, cable and cellhpone bills. However, I don’t consider Adsense as a fulltime job unless I make more than I made from my regular 8-5 job as Software .NET Engineer.

Need to work at this again …
Lionel Darell says:
Today, Adsense is not good to Publishers anymore, but has become good to Advertisers.
bikoy says:
Google has been very good to me. With several hundred $ a month, I always pay for the extra $24 express delivery fee (DHL Service) rather than get frustrated on the very loooong wait of snail mail. In just 5-7 days after payment issue, the cheque’s already on my doorstep. :)
imagemarc says:
It has been very good to me for almost a year. It bought me a laptop, cellphones, gadgets, computers, helped me repair my house and pay its amortization, a savings, and lately a very nice gift.
