Microsoft has confirmed that it will shut down its Outlook Lite app for Android in the coming weeks, with full service ending on May 25, 2026.

The lightweight email app, designed for lower-powered Android devices, will lose all mailbox access after the deadline. While the app may still open, key functions, including email access and navigation will no longer work.
Microsoft has already stopped new installations of Outlook Lite months ago and has been gradually phasing it out. The company is now directing users to switch to its main email app, Outlook Mobile, which will become the standard experience across both Android and iOS.

Users affected by the change are advised to migrate before the cutoff date. Microsoft said that emails, calendar entries, and attachments will remain accessible once users log in through Outlook Mobile using the same account.
The move is part of Microsoft’s broader effort to consolidate its apps and focus on a single, more feature-rich platform. The company also noted that unifying its email services could help improve overall security and user experience.
For those still using Outlook Lite, an upgrade option within the app will redirect users to download Outlook Mobile from the Play Store.
